Dance has always been an integral part of Cretan culture..

Of the 25 traditional dances that they have been recorded today, the most known are these five: Pentozalis, Haniotiko (Syrtos), Sousta, Malevizioti (Kastrino Pidichtos) and Sigano.

Crete’s fast pace of dance: Pentozalis, Sousta, Maleviziotis or Kastrinos, Pidichtoi,are  having background music, originating from the ancient Pyrrhic dances that were used to be”schools” that prepeared you for war.
