Syrtos From The Greek Islands :Discover the Secret of the Islands!

The Nisiotikos Sirtos is a traditional Greek dance that is spread over many Aegean and Ionian islands. Although there are slight differences depending on the island, the Island Sirtos is usually danced in a circle or line by several dancers, held by the hands or shoulders.

The rhythm of the Island Sirto can be slow or fast, depending on the melody and the way it is performed. Dancers make straight forward and backward movements combined with twisting movements, creating a dance flow that is equal parts social and enthusiastic.

It is a dance that symbolizes the unity, joy and tradition of the island communities!
